In the heart of the old Oliva factory, a reference of the Portuguese heavy metallurgy, a creative hub has born, to introduce new ideas, creativity, and cultural and economic value to the region.

Oliva Creative Factory offers incubation spaces for creative businesses, commercial spaces, a business center for mature companies, venues for events and training, interdisciplinary spaces for creative and cultural convergence, artistic residencies and a restaurante/bar.

This project also includes an area dedicated to the fine arts: Centro de Arte Oliva (Oliva’s Art Centre), a space dedicated to Contemporary Art and Art Brut; Centro de Arte de São João da Madeira (São João da Madeira’s Art Center), committed with the promotion of visual arts, with a training programs in several artistic areas; and Conservatório de Dança do Norte (Northern Dance Conservatory), a unique institution in the region, with an artistic vocational education program in the areas of dance and performance.
